FIREFIGHTERS
Annual Testing

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for annual testing for full-time Firefighters.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must be a U.S. Citizen, High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and 18 years of age. Application process includes a written test, physical agility test, and an extensive background review.

ANNUAL PAY: $33,788.56.

BENEFITS: Medical, Life, Vision, and TCRS Retirement.

POLICE OFFICERS
Annual Testing & Lateral Program

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the entry level police officer testing process through Monday, June 12th.

Minimum Requirements: Valid TN Driver License, High School Diploma or GED, and 21 years of age. Application process includes a written test, physical agility test, structured interview, and an extensive background review.

Entry Level Base Pay: $ 36,340.85 + opportunity for overtime.

Benefits:  Medical, Life, Vision, TCRS Retirement, holiday pay, take home vehicle, uniforms, police equipment, and extensive training. 

Lateral entry positions available for currently certified police officers. Base Pay Range: $38,169 to $48,023 + opportunity for overtime. Benefits same as listed above. The City waives the entry level test process for applicants that qualify for the lateral entry program.

SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKERS

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for Seasonal Maintenance Workers ($11.74/hr) in the Parks & Recreation Department.

This position performs maintenance on playground equipment, mowers, trailers, and small machinery, mows grass, removes trash, maintains athletic fields, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, valid Driver’s License, and at least 18 years of age.

This position is not eligible for benefits.

POOL MANAGER and LIFEGUARDS

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Pool Facility Manager ($12.01/hour) and Lifeguards ($8.74/hour).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver’s License and current Certifications:  Lifeguard, CPR, and Basic First Aid.

These positions are seasonal and are not eligible for benefits.

ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for an Accounting Technician in the Finance Department. This position performs essential accounting functions and ensures conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Accrual Accounting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate Degree, or High School Diploma with specialized work experience in accounts payable, general office practices, data processing, or finance; or three years related experience and/or training.

ANNUAL PAY: $38,480.00

CONSTRUCTION WORKER

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a Construction Worker in the Water Resources Department. This position constructs and installs new lines, installs taps for new construction, repairs leaks, installs meters, conducts back flush at pump stations, operates city vehicles and equipment, sets hydrants, maintains manholes and equipment, and performs other essential duties as required. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver’s License and High School Diploma or GED equivalent. The successful applicant must have or obtain a Class A CDL License within 6 months.

ANNUAL PAY: $30,659.20

UTILITY WORKER

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a Utility Worker in the Street and Sanitation Department. This position performs assigned jobs including, but not limited to, repair of streets, mowing and weed eating, pick up of residential garbage, and other general maintenance duties. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver’s License and High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

ANNUAL PAY: $24,419.20 (hourly rate is $11.74)

System Engineer

The City of Elizabethton is seeking a System Engineer for the Electric Department. This position performs professional engineering, construction, maintenance and inspection of electrical distribution and substation facilities and ensures engineering compliance with all applicable codes, regulations standards and specifications pertaining to the Electric System. 

REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and five or more years in the field of electric power line systems is desired. Applicants for this position must have knowledge of insurance policies and coverage, excellent computer, communication and organizational skills and must be competent in the study, design and construction of all aspects of the electric utility industry.
