Covered Bridge Jams3

COVERED BRIDGE JAMS 

Covered Bridge Jams takes place at the Covered Bridge Stage each Saturday night from 7pm-9pm from mid-May until late August. This event is FREE to the public and features all the biggest names in local music from bands such as the Fiddlin' Carson Peters Band, the Lauren Cole Band, Railroad Angels and more. Bring your lawn chair, blanket or get comfy in our bleachers and enjoy the evening by the serene Doe River and kick back to listen to some music and enjoy our community!

PROFESSIONAL MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 
Elizabethton Twins Baseball is operated by the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department. Established in 1974, the Elizabethton Twins are one of 161 Minor League Professional Baseball Clubs in the United States and boasts notable alumni big leaguers such as : Gary Gaetti, Ray Smith, Kent Herbek, Kirby Puckett, Jeff Reed, A.J. Pierzynski, Justin Morneau, Joe Mauer, Dernard Span, Matt Garza, Brian Dozier, Glen Perkins, Trevor Plouffe, Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton. 

This  professional baseball franchise is more than just a game. E-Twins Baseball is a summer event that attracts thousands of our friends and neighbors and continues to be a tourist attraction throughout our region as they take part in 34 promotional nights, stadium concerts, fireworks shows, free youth baseball clinics, fundraising assistance with local non-profits, national entertainment acts and of course to see the stars of tomorrow!

Annual Independence Celebration

The Parks and Recreation Department hosts its annual Independence Day Celebration each July 4th at Covered Bridge Park from noon until 4pm. The celebration features Opening Ceremonies, special music, live bands, a patriotic bike parade for children, a beauty pageant, dancers, free inflatables, special appearances by the Elizabethton Twins and more!

  TWEETSIE TRAIL TREASURE TRIP 
 
What began as the ceremony for the unveiling of the Tweetsie Trail in Elizabethton has quickly become a community favorite annual celebration. This event takes place during the late morning until mid-afternoon on sections of the Tweetsie Trail from Sycamore Shoals to Downtown Elizabethton as depots are set up for participants to collect passport stamps and enter for prizes. Free ice cream is given and inflatables provide entertainment to walkers, casual bike riders and visitors of the trail.

The event concludes during the evening as the Family Celebration is held. While live bands perform there are free inflatables for the kids and prizes from the afternoon event are awarded.
