The Elizabethton Fire Department responds emergency traffic to all fire alarms and smoke investigations. Sometimes when the first arriving fire personnel get on the scene, they may determine that an emergency situation does not exist and therefore tell incoming fire apparatus to either continue on to the scene non-emergency traffic or to return to there stations altogether. EFD takes every potential emergency situation serious, but we also do not want to disturb or interrupt normal traffic anymore than is necessary.
