GREEN SHIFT

LT Andy Wetzel   Battalion Chief, Andy Wetzel joined the Elizabethton Fire Department in 1998 and was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief in December 2018. Chief Wetzel had Previously served as Lieutenant since August of 2016. Chief Wetzel, who came to EFD with no prior Emergency Services experience, earned his B.S. in Education from ETSU and worked as a Teacher/Coach for the Elizabethton City School System prior to coming to work for EFD. Lieutenant Wetzel became a Military Serviceman in 1991 and currently serves as a Military Reservist. Lieutenant Wetzel is also a small business owner within the community.

Lieutenant Rick Riddle   LieutenantRick Riddle joined the Elizabethton Fire Department in 1995 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in March of 2019. Lt. Riddle had previously worked as an EMT for the Carter County Rescue Squad and got his start in Emergency Services as a member of the Watauga Volunteer Fire Department. Lt. Riddle has also served as a volunteer Rescue Technician for the Carter County Rescue Squad, as a volunteer S.W.A.T. Medic for the Carter County Sheriff's Department and is a former Navy Reservist.


 Sergeant Howard Jr McAninch  Sergeant, Junior McAninch has been a member of the Elizabethton Fire Department since 1992. Sergeant McAninch had previously served as a member of the Fire Brigade at the North American Rayon Corporation prior to becoming an EFD member.
