Seuss on the Loose 2023
The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department, Main Street Elizabethton, and the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library are partnering together to celebrate the birthday of beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss!
Join us in Downtown Elizabethton on Saturday, March 4 from 11AM-2PM to participate in Seuss on the Loose! This event celebrates the works of Dr. Seuss in commemoration of his birthday.
To participate, start at the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library to pick up your Sneetch Sheet and begin the fun. From there, you can visit a variety of stops downtown at local businesses anytime from 11 AM - 1 PM. Along the stops, you will encounter guest book readers, characters, crafts, decorations, and themed treats!
Once each stop is visited on the Sneetch Sheet, head down to Covered Bridge Park to continue the fun anytime from 12 PM -2 P.M. You can turn in your completed Sneetch Sheets for a chance to win prizes and enjoy the park and all it has to offer! Elizabethton Parks and Recreation will transform the park into pages straight from books of Dr. Seuss and bring along guests such as the Cat in the Hat and the Grinch!
Special community partners will be set up throughout the park with fun giveaways. The Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library will have free books while supplies last, plus free balloons and inflatables will be available and brought to you by our friends from Carter County Tourism and the Elizabethton Chamber!
We can't wait to celebrate with you!
