Because water quality effects the health and well being of every utility's customers, the State of Tennessee has created a strict set of rules and guidelines to ensure the purity and safety of your drinking water. Fortunately Elizabethton has been blessed with several excellent sources of true ground water that require only minimal treatment. Aside from the addition of required chlorine and a standard water softener, the City is able to deliever some of the purest spring water in the state straight to your tap. To ensure that this quality is maintained at the highest standards, Water Resources utilizes our State Certified Lab at Big Springs to conduct regular testing of samples taken from across the system. Dedicated to providing excellent service, the City was proud to recieve a 98% approval rating on our most recent Sanitary Survey.
