City Councilman Pat "Red" Bowers
Pat "Red" Bowers has served on the Elizabethton City Council for 11 years.
A lifelong resident of Carter County, Bowers was an automobile dealer in Elizabethton for over 50 years. Now retired, Bowers was elected to City Council in 1993. He has won three consecutive four-year terms to council in 1993, 1998 and 2002; serving a mayor from 1993 - 1996.

Bowers has served on the board of directors for the Elizabethton Electric System and he presently serves as an at-large appointee of the Elizabethton-Carter County Economic Development Commission, the East Tennessee Railroad Authority, and the Waste Water Regulations Appeals Board.
He ranks as one of the council's most popular members with the public finishing second among winning candidates with more than 2,200 votes in the Nov. 2002 city election.

Bowers is married and has two sons, one granddaughter and one great-grandson. He and his wife reside at 1224 Thomas Boulevard in Elizabethton.
