ASSISTANT GOLF SUPERINTENDENT

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for an Assistant Golf Superintendent at the Elizabethton Municipal Golf Course. This position assists the Golf Superintendent with the maintenance and development of the course.

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and considerable knowledge of turf grass maintenance with two (2) years supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience; valid Driver License.

Annual Pay: $41,600.00

MAINTENANCE WORKER

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a full-time Maintenance Worker in the Parks & Recreation Department. This position performs maintenance on playground equipment, mowers, trailers, and small machinery, mows grass, removes trash, maintains athletic fields, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, valid Driver License, and at least 18 years of age.

ANNUAL PAY: $25,646.40.

DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for our Director of Parks and Recreation position. This position oversees and progresses recreational services for the City; develops and implements programs and events for all people; will regularly interact with the local community, execute marketing plans, recruit sponsors and vendors, coordinate contracts, and establish departmental and project budgets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or two to three years related experience and/or training; Valid Driver License.

PREFERRED: Five (5) years’ related experience with at least two (2) years of the five (5) years being supervisory experience.

COMPENSATION: Competitive pay and benefits, to include TCRS retirement.

SAFETY, ENVIRONMENTAL, & FACILITIES COORDINATOR

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for the Safety, Environmental, & Facilities Coordinator position at the Electric Department. This position ensures that employees and customers are provided with a safe environment in which to work or conduct business; develop plans and procedures to promote and maintain a company-wide safety program; and maintain environmental, OSHA, safety training, and other applicable permits/records.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver License, High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and two years related experience and/or training. The successful applicant must complete the TVPPA Certified Safety Coordinator training program within two (2) years and must obtain CPR and First Aid Instructor within one (1) year.

ANNUAL PAY: $43,534.40.

MECHANIC

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a Mechanic in Fleet Maintenance. This position plans maintenance schedules, operates diagnostic instruments, conducts inspections, and maintains vehicle records.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver License, High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and thorough knowledge of automotive mechanics and gas and diesel engines. The successful applicant must have or obtain a CDL and ASE Certification within the first year.

ANNUAL PAY: $33,425.60.

POLICE OFFICERS
Lateral Transfer Program

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for our lateral transfer program for currently certified police officers. You must have at least two years of experience as a certified officer to be considered.

PAY RANGE: $38,169 to $48,023 + opportunity for overtime.

CONSTRUCTION WORKER
The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a Construction Worker in the Water Resources Department. This position constructs and installs new lines, installs taps for new construction, repairs leaks, installs meters, conducts back flush at pump stations, operates city vehicles and equipment, sets hydrants, maintains manholes and equipment, and performs other essential duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver’s License and High School Diploma or GED equivalent. The successful applicant must have or obtain a Class A CDL License within 6 months.

ANNUAL PAY: $36,441.60 (starting pay without Class A CDL)
                          $38,459.20 (starting pay with Class A CDL / once Class A CDL is obtained)

The City of Elizabethton is accepting applications for a Utility Worker in the Street and Sanitation Department. This position performs assigned jobs including, but not limited to, repair of streets, mowing and weed eating, pick up of residential garbage, and other general maintenance duties. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver’s License and High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

ANNUAL PAY: $26,145.60 (hourly rate is $12.57)
